To conclude our Showcasing-our-Work series of stories with volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations, we chatted with Maria Pereira, a Development Worker with the Sligo Centre for Independent Living CLG. Here is Maria’s story:
I did a workshop recently with the Volunteer Centre. It was about marketing. I found it very helpful especially listening to the other participants sharing their experiences.
We have a long-time volunteer at Sligo CIL who helps with administration during non-Covid times. She is part of the family and a great help.
We deal very regularly with Olivia Byrne from the Volunteer Centre for all our Garda Vetting. Totally efficient and easy to deal with. We did our initial training with Ciara who simplified a convoluted process. A great service from a very positive and committed bunch of people.
