Many Community & voluntary groups are finding that their usual activities are paused for now. We are encouraging groups to tackle long finger tasks – like getting on top of their social media – while other activities are paused.

Our first step in supporting groups to get ahead of the game with social media was to host a Tips and Tricks session. We had a great offer from local online enthusiast Val Robus aka Magnumlady. Val is a volunteer on our Board of Directors and currently works professionally in online marketing.

The recording of the session is up above.

We also wanted to share a fantastic resource developed by our local PPN (Public Participation Network). Sligo PPN has worked with the fabulous Digital Training Institute to develop the Sligo PPN Social Media Academy.

The academy is a combination of online videos and downloadable guides, organised by them theme, which will give groups an introduction to how they can use social media to enhance their operation.

There is a lot in it, but the videos are great and helpful for groups needing assistance in this space.

Check it out here.

Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown PPN have also developed a great resource for those who may be struggling with Zoom. They have allowed us to share it here. There are step by step videos and explanations which some may find useful.

Watch this space for recordings, information and support from the next steps in our Spring Tips and Tricks series where we will cover governance, finance, measuring impact, sustainability and marketing and communications.
