Our Mission
To promote meaningful volunteer opportunities to all sections of the community and foster excellence in volunteer involving organisations hosting volunteers in County Sligo
Our Vision
Where excellence in volunteering plays a meaningful and recognised role in empowered sustainable communities in County Sligo.
What We Do:
We provide a link between people interested in volunteering and non-profit groups looking for volunteers. We advertise for volunteers on behalf of 300+ non-profit groups in Sligo and we refer interested people to these groups.
For individuals who wish to volunteer we:
- Give support & advice over the phone when you register
- Run Volunteer Information Sessions – Optional
- Offer one to one appointments
- Have an up to date online database of volunteer opportunities
- Keep you in touch with new opportunities – short term opp Text list/newsletters etc.
For non-profit organisations we:
- Promote & advertise your volunteer opportunities
- Give quality training about finding, keeping and managing volunteers.
- Give on-going information, advice and support on working with your volunteers.
- Offer a Garda Vetting Service – for organisations who do not have access to their own Authorised Signatory (cost involved)
- Run quarterly Volunteer Co-Ordinators Get Together’s
Steps:
- The earlier you begin your search for volunteers the better.
- We cannot guarantee to fill your role and it is important to note that we do not screen or select volunteers.
- We will try to guide or steer potential volunteers to roles that we think will best suit them and the Volunteer Involving organisation.
Sligo Volunteer Centre
Our aim is to connect those who wish to volunteer, to not for profit organisations who involve volunteers.
